There are a wide variety of activities to choose from while vacationing at Holden Beach. Boating, fishing and hiking top the list, but there is much more to choose from. If you visit between May and October you will witness turtle hatching. The island is natural sea turtle habitat. There are over 100 golf courses with in a one hour drive from Holden. You can also go biking, kayaking, clamming, shark fishing and surfing.
Lighthouses are of course a popular draw along the North Carolina coast. The drive in total takes about two hours without stopping. If you want to stop and take a tour, most of the light houses offer tours. Check with the visitor’s center in Holden Beach for the current touring schedules. You can also book cheap all inclusive cruises to view the lighthouses from sea.
