Once people realize how great it is to travel with their own personal travel pillow, they may want to consider getting one for the rest of the family as well. But are there different options? Can everyone in the family use the same type of travel pillow? Well, you can buy travel pillows that are made especially for kids and there are even different pillows for infants and toddlers and older children as well.
You may already have a headrest that you use for your infant in their car seat. When your child is a bit older you can get them a u-shaped travel pillow that will also help keep their heads from wobbling as they try to sleep while traveling. Travel pillows for kids provide support just as adult travel pillows do, they are just sized smaller and often come in bright colors or in fun animal shapes. As with the adult pillows, it is a great idea to get a travel pillow with a removable cover for washing.
Older children and teens can start to use the travel pillows that are made for adults. On long car rides, some kids this age might like the long, snake shaped travel pillows that attach to the shoulder belt. These pillows are nice to lean against when trying to fall asleep in the car to pass the time. Inflatable travel pillows are also great since you can adjust the firmness and they can be tucked away into a bag when not in use.
If your family does a lot of traveling, you may find that having a suitable travel pillow for everyone might help make your trips more enjoyable. Another option is to throw a bunch of bed pillows in the car. These tend to take up a lot of space and may not stay in place and be quite as comfortable as a travel pillow that was specifically made for the job.
